I have searched a long time for ways to make money by freelancing from home; particularly by writing articles, stories and reviews. Associated Content is the first site I have found that pays off (excuse the pun;). There is also a great social network here. As a new member to the site, I have already made $30! Not bad for a beginner that also works full-time and is a single mom of 2.
